WHAT IS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE?

Domestic violence (also known as domestic abuse or spousal abuse) occurs when a family member, partner or ex-partner attempts to physically or psychologically dominate another. Domestic violence often refers to violence between spouses, or spousal abuse but can also include co-habitants and nonmarried intimate partners. Domestic violence occurs in all cultures; people of all races, ethnicities, religions, sexes and classes.

Welcome To Safe Haven International

Safehaven International provides protection,education, and transportation services to victims

of domestic violence free of charge during the transition period between the initial 911 call and when victims are safe from their abusers.At Safehaven International, we do whatever is necessary

to assist other advocacy groups and social services to provide an immediate safety net and aid in the education process necessary for a long-term solution to this very concerning social problem.

Victims need to feel safe for themselves and their families and often need to be able to stay in
their homes after abuse has occurred. Some individuals need transportation to a court hearing, some are children needing transportation to and from school. Some victims need protection when law enforcement can no longer provide it. This is where Safehaven International is able to provide help.
